7.4 V 2000 mAh Li-ion radio battery

This 7.4 V 2000 mAh lithium-ion pack replaces the FNB67Li cell for Yaesu Vertex portables including the FT-60, FT-60R, VX-110, VX-120, VX-150, VX-160, VX-180, VX-210, VX-400, VX-410, VX-420, VXA-120, VXA-170, VXA-200 and VXA-210 models. It delivers the nominal voltage and capacity specified for those radios.

Drop-tested housing and extended warranty

The moulded case survives six drops from six feet onto all six faces without cracking or splintering, so the pack keeps powering the radio after rough handling. An 18-month free-replacement warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

Single-voltage chemistry limits

The 7.2 V nominal chemistry means the pack cannot be used in radios that require a different voltage rail or a higher capacity than 2000 mAh. It also lacks the contacts or firmware needed for smart-battery communication found in some newer marine transceivers.

Questions about this item

How long will the 7.4V 2000mAh Li-ion cells hold a useful charge before I need a replacement?

The 18 month warranty period reflects the expected service life under normal use; after that the cells will gradually lose capacity and should be replaced.

What stops the battery from running the VX-110 continuously on high power all day?

The 2000 mAh capacity limits total transmit time; heavy use will drain the pack in a few hours and it must be recharged before further operation.

Does the pack get hot or draw extra current when the FT-60 is keyed for long periods?

Normal Li-ion chemistry produces some warmth during extended transmit, but the housing is rated to survive repeated 6-foot drops without damage or safety issues.
