Compatible Li-Ion pack for Yaesu VX-230 series

This 7.4 V lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack for Yaesu VX-230, VX-231 and VX-231L two-way radios. It supplies 2000 mAh capacity for extended talk time on marine or land-mobile channels. The pack is built with high-grade cells and ships new with an 18-month replacement warranty.

Single-voltage chemistry limits runtime per charge

The 7.4 V nominal output fixes the energy available from each charge cycle, so operating time scales directly with the 2000 mAh rating. Users needing longer shifts must carry spare packs rather than expect a higher-capacity version of this form factor. No multi-voltage or fast-charge protocol is supported by this cell chemistry.

2000 mAh capacity decides shift-length suitability

At 2000 mAh the pack delivers roughly one full day of typical push-to-talk use before recharge. Operators running continuous duty cycles or high-power transmit settings will need additional charged packs on hand. Buyers who need more runtime per battery should look for a higher-capacity alternative.

Questions about this item

Does the 7.4V 2000mAh version replace the original 7.5V 2200mAh pack for the VX-230, VX-231 and VX-231L?

Yes, this FNB-V104LI is built as a direct replacement for the Yaesu Vertex 7.5V 2200mAh original and fits the VX-230, VX-231 and VX-231L radios.

What runtime can I expect from the 7.4V 2000mAh capacity in daily use?

The 2000mAh lithium-ion cell provides a full shift of typical receive-heavy operation; heavy transmit cycles will reduce that proportionally.

What connection standard does the FNB-V104LI use and does it limit charging speed?

It uses the standard Vertex slide-on rail interface, which carries the full charging current the radio’s desk or rapid charger supplies.
