Reliable Power for Vertex VX-230 and VX-231

This 7.5V 2200mAh lithium-ion pack is built for Yaesu Vertex VX-230 and VX-231 two-way radios. It supplies the voltage and capacity those handsets expect, so operators get the talk time the original equipment specifies. The cell chemistry matches the OEM design for direct replacement without modification.

Durable Housing Handles Everyday Knocks

The casing survives six drops from six feet onto all six sides without cracking or losing function. That rugged construction protects the internal cells from the impacts common in marine, automotive or field work. An 18 month warranty covers the battery against defects during normal service.

Consistent Output Through Extended Shifts

Under continuous transmit cycles the pack maintains stable voltage without early fade. The high-grade cells resist heat build-up during long duty periods, preserving capacity over repeated charge cycles. Users can rely on full rated performance for the duration of a work day rather than only the first few hours.

Questions about this item

How do I install the FNB-V104Li battery in my VX-230 and what step do people miss?

Slide the battery onto the radio chassis until the locking latch clicks; the step often missed is confirming the latch is fully engaged so the pack cannot shift during vibration.

What maintenance or replacement will the 2200 mAh Li-ion pack need later?

Expect gradual capacity loss after several hundred charge cycles; plan to replace the pack when talk time drops below your operational needs.

What limit appears first during sustained transmit use on the VX-231?

The 7.5 V pack will hit its thermal protection threshold before the 2200 mAh capacity is exhausted during continuous high-power transmission.
