Emergency Exit Lighting Battery

This 6V 5Ah rechargeable battery is built for emergency exit lighting systems and similar backup applications. It uses advanced AGM technology with a sealed, non-spillable construction that operates safely in any position. The maintenance-free design requires no watering or electrolyte checks during its service life. It serves as a direct OEM replacement for compatible units.

Compatibility Check Before Ordering

Verify that your existing system requires a 6V 5Ah battery with the same physical dimensions and terminal layout. Confirm the charger voltage and charging profile match AGM specifications to avoid damage. Ensure the intended mounting orientation is supported by the equipment despite the battery's position-free capability. Check that the expected 4-7 year design life aligns with your maintenance schedule.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The absorptive glass mat system delivers steady service during extended discharge rather than only short bursts. Gas recombination handles over 90% of generated gas during normal operation, reducing internal pressure buildup over long periods. Sealed construction prevents electrolyte loss during continuous float charging. The maintenance-free design maintains consistent performance without intervention throughout the expected floating service life.

Questions about this item

Does the 6V 5Ah battery ship with any cables or mounting hardware, or must those be purchased separately?

The battery is supplied as a standalone unit; cables, terminals and mounting brackets are not included and must be sourced separately.

Is the 6V 5Ah capacity the only option in this High Rate series, or are other voltages or amp-hour ratings available?

The listing describes a single 6V 5Ah model; no alternative voltages or capacities are mentioned for this High Rate line.

What does the 90% gas recombination figure mean for everyday use in an emergency exit light?

Over 90% of gas generated during normal operation recombines internally, so the battery stays sealed and maintenance-free throughout its 4-7 year expected life.
