Tank 12V 2500mAh Ni-Cd replacement battery

The Tank 12V 2500mAh Ni-Cd battery replaces the Porter Cable 8623 pack for 12 volt tools. It fits models 869, 9866/F and BN200V12. The 2500 mAh capacity restores runtime on compatible drills and drivers. A two-year warranty backs the cells and housing.

Sustained output on 12 volt tools

Nickel-cadmium chemistry delivers steady current through long drilling or driving sessions. The 2500 mAh rating supports extended use before recharge is needed. Cells and plastics are built for rugged jobsite conditions. Performance remains consistent across the full discharge curve.

Upgrade from worn original packs

This battery replaces an exhausted 8623 pack when the original no longer holds charge. The jump is worth it when runtime has dropped below useful levels. It is not for users needing lithium-ion chemistry or higher voltage platforms. Builders requiring 100 percent compatibility with the listed Porter Cable models will find a direct fit.

Questions about this item

Does the 2500 mAh Ni-Cd pack run noticeably warm or draw extra current when the drill is used continuously all day?

The 12 V Ni-Cd chemistry delivers 2500 mAh capacity; normal warmth occurs under heavy load, but no abnormal heat or current draw is specified for continuous daily use.

Which specific Porter-Cable tool models must I already own for this 8623 replacement to fit and power up?

It directly replaces the 8623 pack and fits models 869, 9866/F and BN200V12 — only those 12 V Porter-Cable tools are compatible.

Will this 12 V Ni-Cd battery charge correctly on the older Porter-Cable charger I kept from my previous 8623 pack?

Yes, the replacement uses the same 12 V Ni-Cd chemistry and form factor as the original 8623, so it works with the existing Porter-Cable charger.
