Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM Fan

The be quiet! Silent Wings 4 is a 120mm PWM case fan built for silent cooling in desktop PCs. It uses a fluid-dynamic bearing and a six-pole motor to reach 1600 RPM while keeping noise between 15 and 20 dBA. Airflow is rated at 48.7 CFM through a 25mm thick black frame. The fan connects via a standard 4-pin PWM header for automatic speed control.

Builders who need quiet cooling on heatsinks

This fan suits users who want low noise without giving up static pressure for dense fin stacks. The funnel-shaped frame and small tip clearance raise pressure for restrictive layouts. Buyers who need a bundled fan controller or multi-pack kits should look elsewhere because the package contains only the single fan and mounting hardware.

300,000-hour rated lifespan

The manufacturer rates the bearing and motor for up to 300,000 hours of continuous operation. That figure reflects the fluid-dynamic bearing and six-pole motor design. Anti-vibration push pins and screw holes are included for either mounting method.

Questions about this item

How often will the fluid-dynamic bearing need replacement?

The bearing is rated for up to 300,000 hours of operation, so routine replacement is not expected during normal use.

What limits continuous airflow at maximum speed?

At 1600 RPM the fan delivers 48.7 CFM; the motor will not exceed that RPM, so airflow caps there.

What noise and heat should I expect during all-day operation?

Noise stays between 15 and 20 dBA at regular speed; the 6-pole motor and fluid-dynamic bearing keep vibration and heat low.
