1-1/4 in NPT Steel Pipe Nipple
This Beck C. H. pipe nipple connects air, gas, non-potable water or oil lines in plumbing and mechanical systems. The 8 in length suits tight runs where a standard coupling will not reach. It is built for new installations or maintenance repairs in commercial and industrial settings.
300 psi at 150 °F pressure rating
The welded Grade B steel nipple handles a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi at 150 degrees F and 150 psi steam at 360 degrees F. Black anodized finish protects the steel surface. Nominal pipe size is 1-1/4 in with 1-3/8 in inside diameter for full flow.
NPT taper threads seal with tape or paste
Apply PTFE tape or pipe dope to the male NPT threads before tightening to prevent leaks. Over-tightening can crack the fitting or strip threads, especially on welded nipples. The item is made in the USA and ships from Zoro; orders of $75 or more ship free.

Questions about this item
What does the 300 psi pressure rating mean when the nipple is installed in a system?
The nipple is rated for up to 300 psi at 150 °F, so it will hold that pressure in air, gas, oil or non-potable water lines without leaking.
How does the NPT thread standard affect what I can connect to it?
Both ends are 1 1/4 inch NPT tapered threads, so they seal when screwed into matching NPT fittings; the thread form itself limits the maximum pressure to the nipple's 300 psi rating.
What clearance and mounting style does the 8 inch length require?
The welded steel nipple is 8 inches long with a 1 3/8 inch inside diameter, so it needs straight pipe runs or fittings spaced to accept that length and the NPT thread engagement on each end.
