Dual-bay SATA docking station

The Belkin 2 Bay-Black-USB 3.0 docking station accepts two 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA HDDs or SSDs up to 18 TB each. It connects to a desktop PC, laptop or television over USB 3.0 and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android systems. The unit includes a 12 V 3 A power adapter and a USB 3.0 data cable for immediate use.

Offline cloning and UASP acceleration

An offline clone function duplicates data from one drive to the other without a host computer, while LED indicators show power and activity status. When attached to a UASP-capable host the dock delivers up to 80 percent faster transfer rates than standard USB 3.0, moving a 1 GB file in roughly three seconds. The connection remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports.

Compact enclosure with drive protection

The black enclosure measures 14.33 in wide, 12.83 in high and 9.06 in deep, weighing 1 pound for easy transport between workstations. An on/off power switch protects installed drives during insertion or removal, and hot-plug support lets users swap disks without rebooting the host. Buyers who need more than two simultaneous drive bays or a USB-C interface will not be served by this model.

Questions about this item

Does the Belkin 2 Bay-Black-USB 3.0 run hot or loud when both bays are cloning 18 TB drives for hours?

The dock has no built-in fan; it relies on passive airflow through the open bays. Under sustained offline cloning the aluminium chassis becomes warm but stays within safe operating limits.

Which cables and power supply must I already have to connect this dock to a laptop?

The box includes a 12 V / 3 A power adapter and a USB 3.0 data cable. You only need a free USB 3.0 Type-A port on the laptop; no extra cables are required.

Will a SATA I drive from 2009 work reliably in either bay alongside a modern SATA III SSD?

Yes. Each bay accepts SATA I, II or III drives up to 18 TB. The controller negotiates the link speed independently per slot, so legacy and current drives operate together without conflict.
