8-in-1 USB-C Dock for Dual Monitors

The Belkin AY801 expands a single USB-C or Thunderbolt port into eight connections, including two HDMI outputs, USB-A ports, a USB-C data port, SD and TF card slots and 100 W Power Delivery. It targets Windows laptop users who need to drive two external displays and connect peripherals through one cable.

Dual 4K@30 Hz or 1080p@60 Hz Limit

Each HDMI port can reach 4K at 30 Hz when used alone, while simultaneous dual-monitor operation is limited to 1080p at 60 Hz. The host must support DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt video output; macOS only mirrors the same image on both screens and cannot extend across them.

Compact Black Housing with Fixed Cable

The unit measures 14.33 in wide, 12.83 in high and 9.06 in deep, weighing 0.12 lb, so it sits unobtrusively on a desk. Its built-in USB-C tether means no separate cable to lose, while the mix of USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB-C data ports covers legacy and current accessories without adapters.

Questions about this item

Which version of the Belkin AY801 should I choose for dual 4K monitors?

The single model provides two HDMI ports that run at 4K@30Hz each, or 1080P@60Hz when both displays are active.

What does the 4K@30Hz figure mean once the dock is connected to my laptop?

Each HDMI output can drive a 4K screen at 30 frames per second; with two monitors attached the maximum drops to 1080P@60Hz per display.

What interface does the dock use and what does it limit in practice?

It connects through a USB-C port that must support Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 or DP Alt Mode; without video-capable USB-C the HDMI ports will not function.
