Magnetic welding square for fabrication
The Bessey BDMS-1 magnetic welding square holds ferrous workpieces at 45 and 90 degree angles during welding and assembly tasks. Its rare-earth magnet delivers up to 100 lb of pull force for secure positioning. The tool is designed for fabricators and welders who need repeatable angle setup without mechanical clamps.
Two fixed angles with strong holding power
The square locks material at 45 degrees and 90 degrees using a permanent rare-earth magnet rated at 100 lb maximum pull. It provides reliable holding for sheet metal, tube and plate within that capacity. The magnet is not switchable, so the field is always active and the workpiece must be lifted clear to release.
Steel housing with T-handle release
A steel housing 1.67 in thick encloses the magnet and withstands shop heat and impact. A centre hole of 1/4 in diameter accepts the included T-handle for mechanical leverage to break the magnetic hold. Overall dimensions are 8 in length, 8 in width and 1.6 in height, giving a low profile that fits tight joint clearances.

Questions about this item
Will the 1.6 in height clear the flange on my older angle iron?
The square stands 1.6 in tall overall, so measure your flange height against that figure to confirm clearance.
How do I verify the 45 and 90 degree positions are holding correctly?
Clamp the square to the workpiece, engage the T-handle, and check the joint with a combination square or digital protractor at both 45 and 90 degrees.
Does the package include the T-handle or must I buy it separately?
The T-handle is included in the box; no separate purchase is required for the release handle.
