Capacity and Media Limits

BD-XL triple-layer discs store up to 100 GB and quad-layer discs store up to 128 GB per side. M-Disc media is rated for over 1000 years of data retention. Standard single-layer and dual-layer Blu-ray, DVD and CD formats are also supported, but anything beyond the stated BD-XL capacities cannot be written.

Interface and Burning Constraints

The internal 128 MB buffer protects against underruns during sustained writes. Burning speeds are adjustable through the menu system, yet the hardware cannot exceed the maximum rates defined by each disc specification.
