What it is

Prey: Mooncrash is a downloadable expansion for the Xbox One version of Prey. It adds a rogue-lite campaign set on a secret TranStar moon base where enemies, hazards, goals and loot change every run. The DLC is rated M for Mature 17+ and requires the base game Prey on Xbox One to play.

Thermals noise power

As a digital download there are no moving parts, no fan noise and no additional power draw beyond the console’s normal operation. The code installs to the Xbox One internal storage and runs entirely on the existing hardware without generating extra heat.

Build fit

The expansion unlocks directly on an Xbox One console linked to the purchasing account and does not require a physical disc slot or extra peripherals. It occupies storage space on the drive but frees the player from swapping media. An internet connection is needed for the initial download and licence verification.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Mooncrash DLC on Xbox One and what step do people often miss?

Redeem the digital code on your Xbox One, then install the DLC; the step people miss is owning and installing the base game Prey first, as Mooncrash requires it to launch.

Will I need to repurchase or renew this DLC later?

No, the digital licence is permanent once redeemed on your Xbox account; no subscription or further purchase is needed to keep playing Mooncrash.

What is the first limit I hit during a long Mooncrash session?

The ESRB Mature 17+ rating means the content is restricted to players aged 17 and over; otherwise the rogue-lite loop continues indefinitely.
