What the 2501 kit is and who it suits

This Beyerdynamic 2501 set includes two wireless lavalier microphones, a USB-C receiver, a Lightning adapter, dual foam and furry windshields, and a carrying pouch. It is built for solo creators, interview pairs, and mobile journalists who need plug-and-play audio on iPhone 15 or 16, recent iPads, Android devices with OTG support, or laptops.

Check your device before ordering

Confirm your phone or tablet has a USB-C port or a Lightning port and supports OTG if it is an Android model. The receiver draws power from the host, so the port must supply bus power while recording. No app installation or Bluetooth pairing is required, but the OS must recognise standard USB audio class devices.

Ideal for quick mobile recording.

The two transmitters cover a presenter plus one guest, each running up to 8 hours per charge with a 1.5 hour top-up. Stable 2.4 GHz transmission reaches 65 ft reliably and 130 ft in open space with 0.05 s latency. Buyers who need more than two simultaneous microphones, timecode sync, or direct XLR output should look at a different system.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and is anything extra needed?

The package includes two wireless lavalier microphones, a USB-C receiver, a Lightning adapter, two furry windshields, two foam mic covers, a USB-C charging cable, and a user manual. No additional accessories are required to start recording.

Which version should I choose for an iPhone 15 or an older Lightning model?

The set works with iPhone 15 and 16 via the USB-C receiver, and with iPhone 14 or earlier Lightning devices using the included Lightning adapter. The receiver fits most phone cases without removal.

How does the 48 kHz 16-bit figure translate to real recordings?

It delivers CD-quality audio at 48 kHz/16-bit with omnidirectional pickup, while the noise-canceling chip and windshields suppress background sound for clear vlogs, interviews, and live streams.
