Replacement CPU and GPU Fans

This set includes one CPU cooling fan and one GPU cooling fan designed for MSI GS65 and GS65VR laptops using the MS-16Q2 chassis. It serves owners of those specific models who need to replace worn or noisy original coolers. Each unit is a direct-fit replacement part supplied new.

5 V 4-Pin Power and Thermal Headroom

Both fans operate at 5 V and connect via a 4-pin header, allowing the laptop’s embedded controller to regulate speed precisely. They handle the thermal load of the original CPU and GPU modules under normal gaming workloads. Sustained maximum turbo clocks or heavily overclocked configurations may exceed the airflow these replacements can deliver.

MS-16Q2 Chassis Compatibility

The parts are keyed to the MS-16Q2 platform and the 16Q2-CPU-CW and 16Q2-GPU-CW part numbers. They will not fit other MSI series or third-party laptops that use different mounting points or connector layouts. Buyers must verify their service tag matches this exact chassis before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will these 5 V 4-pin fans fit alongside the existing heatsink in my MSI GS65 or GS65VR?

They are built for the MS-16Q2 chassis and match the original 16Q2-CPU-CW and 16Q2-GPU-CW mounting points, so they sit directly on the stock heatsink without modification.

How can I verify both fans are spinning correctly after installation?

Power on the laptop and watch the fan-speed readout in the BIOS or MSI Dragon Center; both the CPU and GPU fans should report RPM values above zero at idle.

Does the package contain both the CPU and GPU fans, or must I order them separately?

The box includes one CPU cooling fan and one GPU cooling fan — no extra parts are required for a complete replacement.
