What this tool is
The BFKK leather splitter is a manual skiving machine built from stainless steel for DIY leathercrafting. It handles vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned leather up to 18cm wide and clamps to work surfaces up to 38mm thick. The kit includes five blades, four screws, two L-keys, gloves and two instruction manuals.
What the accessories change
The fixed clamp secures the splitter to any bench within the 38mm range so the tool does not shift while you pull leather through. Five supplied blades give immediate replacements when edges dull, and the two L-keys let you adjust the side screws that control thinning depth down to about .5mm on well-oiled, moderately soft hides. Gloves protect hands during blade changes.
Who this suits and who should look elsewhere
Crafters thinning watch straps, belts or small panels from suitably prepared leather will find the adjuster screws and clamp practical. Buyers needing to skive pieces wider than 18cm or wanting powered feed for high-volume work should look elsewhere. Very soft or extremely hard leathers may not feed cleanly through the manual mechanism.

Questions about this item
How often will the five included blades need replacing when I use the splitter daily?
The set ships with five stainless-steel blades; replacement frequency depends on leather type and how often you resharpen them.
What is the widest leather strip the 18 cm opening can handle before the clamp becomes the bottleneck?
The machine accepts leather up to 18 cm wide; anything wider will not fit under the rollers.
Does the stainless-steel body heat up or make noticeable noise during an all-day skiving session?
Manual operation produces no motor heat or fan noise; only the sound of the blade cutting leather is audible.
