Male DB9 serial cable for legacy devices
This six-foot USB 2.0 to RS232 cable uses an FTDI chipset to create a virtual COM port on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, Linux and Mac OS. It connects serial equipment such as modems, barcode scanners, label printers, PLC controllers, POS terminals and CNC machines to a modern USB port.
Check the device port gender and pin count
The connector on this cable is a male DB9 plug with nine pins. Verify that your target device presents a matching female DB9 socket before ordering. Driver installation is required; download the appropriate driver from the FTDI or Cisco website before first use.
No external power supply needed
The adapter draws power directly from the USB bus, so no separate power adapter is required. Plug-and-play operation allows the COM port to appear automatically after the driver is installed, and baud-rate settings can be adjusted to suit the connected serial device.
