USB-C CAC Reader for Government ID
This USB-C smart-card reader is built for Department of Defence and government personnel who need to authenticate with PIV or CAC credentials. It works on Windows 10, Windows 11 and Mac OS 10.15 or later, plus Linux systems. The device is not compatible with iPhone or iPad.
Plug-and-play operation with no external power
The reader draws power directly from the USB-C port and has no moving parts, so it runs silently and adds negligible load to the host. No fan, no radiator and no separate power supply are involved. Standard USB-C current limits keep thermals and noise at baseline levels during normal use.
Bundled standards enable secure log-in and banking
The reader conforms to PIV, EMS, ISO-7816 and EMV2 2000 Level 1, and carries CE, FCC, VCCI and Microsoft WHQL certifications. Mac users must install Java from the official site, while DOD and USG users require a third-party CAC Enabler program. These software steps unlock access to ActivClient, AKO, OWA, DKO, JKO, NKO, BOL, GKO, Marinenet, AF Portal, Pure Edge Viewer, ApproveIt, DCO, DTS, LPS and Disa Enterprise Email.
