What the card adds
This Bipra 4-port USB 3.0 PCIe x1 expansion card adds four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports to a desktop PC through a single PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot. It is aimed at builders who need more USB 3.0 connections for external drives, peripherals or data transfer without replacing the motherboard. The VIA VL805 chipset handles the USB 3.0 protocol and the card is compliant with the PCI Express 2.0 specification. Supported operating systems include Windows 2000 through 11 in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions plus Linux.
Build fit and brackets
The card fits a standard PCIe x1 slot and ships with both a full-height bracket and a low-profile bracket so it works in full-size or slim desktop cases. Because it is self-powered, no extra power cable from the motherboard or PSU is required, freeing up internal connectors and simplifying cable routing. Each of the four downstream ports can deliver up to 5 V at 3000 mA, allowing bus-powered devices to run without an external adapter. The x1 link leaves larger PCIe slots available for graphics cards or other expansion cards.
Thermals noise and power
With no active cooling and no external power connector, the card adds negligible heat and zero fan noise to the system. Power for the USB ports is drawn directly from the PCIe slot within the 2.0 specification limits. In normal use the board runs passively and does not increase case temperatures or acoustic output in any measurable way.

Questions about this item
Does the x1 PCIe 2.0 lane cap throughput below the card's 5 Gbps USB 3.0 rating under sustained load?
The card uses a single PCIe 2.0 x1 link, whose maximum bandwidth is below the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 specification, so sustained transfers will be limited by the bus.
Will the card run hot or draw extra power when all four ports supply 5 V at 3000 mA continuously?
The self-powered design delivers up to 5 V/3000 mA per port without an external power cable, and the manufacturer highlights no thermal throttling or fan requirement.
Must the desktop motherboard have a free PCIe x1 slot and a low-profile bracket opening?
Yes, the card requires an available PCIe x1 slot and includes both standard and low-profile brackets for full-size or slim desktop chassis.
