2-inch direct thermal receipt printer delivering 203 dpi at up to 6 ips with serial and Ethernet interfaces
The BIXOLON SLP-DX220EG is a 2-inch desktop direct thermal printer designed for barcode labels, wristbands and receipts. It suits retail, healthcare and light industrial users who need a compact device with serial and Ethernet connectivity for integration into existing POS or inventory systems. The printer handles media widths from 15 to 60 mm and roll diameters up to 130 mm.
The engine prints at 203 dpi with a maximum speed of 6 ips, which equals 152 mm per second. Smart Media Detection automatically identifies gap, black mark and short-length media so the user does not have to configure sensors manually. The fixed 2-inch width means the unit cannot print wider shipping labels or full-page documents, limiting it to narrow-format applications.
Paper loading uses an adjustable guide and the control panel includes pause and cancel keys for immediate job control. The printer speaks SLCS, BPL-Z and BPL-E command sets, so it drops into most legacy label software without driver rewrites. Bundled Label Artist software adds database-driven design for text, graphics and 1D or 2D barcodes. A power supply and US cord are included in the box.

The printer handles label widths from 15 mm to 60 mm and accepts rolls up to 130 mm in diameter, so you pick the media that fits those ranges rather than selecting a separate model.
6 inches per second is 152 mm per second, so a standard label or receipt is produced in a fraction of a second during continuous runs.
Serial links you to legacy POS terminals while Ethernet lets the printer sit on a local network; each interface handles one host connection at a time.
