DB25 extension for professional audio

The Black Box Corporation BC00708 extends a DB25 connection with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. It is built for pro sound environments where balanced analogue or multi-channel digital signals are routed between patchbays, converters and interfaces. The straight-through wiring preserves pin assignments so existing looms stay compatible. Installers and studio engineers use it to bridge rack gaps without re-terminating cables.

Adds reach without extra solder joints

The cable simply lengthens an existing DB25 run, removing the need to build custom looms or add inline couplers that can loosen over time. Its male-to-female layout lets you daisy-chain from a wall plate or breakout box directly into a console or converter. Studios that frequently reconfigure tie lines gain a reliable extension that keeps the original pin-out intact.

Questions about this item

Will the 25-pin connectors on this cable need periodic re-seating or replacement?

The DB25 male and female connectors are standard soldered types; they do not require scheduled re-seating or replacement under normal studio use.

What is the first limit encountered when running this extension at full length for long sessions?

Signal integrity over the extended run is the primary limit; the cable adds no active circuitry, so attenuation and crosstalk increase with length and determine maximum reliable distance.
