FlexPoint T1/E1 to Fiber Line Driver

The Black Box MT663A-SSC converts T1 or E1 signals to single-mode fibre for transmission distances up to 28 kilometres. It is intended for network engineers extending legacy TDM circuits over optical infrastructure.

SC single-mode interface limited to 28 km

The SC connector supports single-mode fibre only and the link budget is rated for 28 km. Buyers needing multimode compatibility or longer reach must select a different transceiver.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 28 km single-mode version or a shorter-reach alternative?

Choose the 28 km single-mode model when the fiber link spans up to 28 kilometres; shorter-reach optics are only needed for campus or building runs well inside that distance.

What does the 28 km rating mean once the transceiver is installed in a live T1/E1 circuit?

It guarantees error-free transport of a full T1 or E1 payload across 28 kilometres of standard single-mode fiber with an SC connector, provided launch power and receiver sensitivity stay within the module's specified window.
