26-port managed Gigabit switch

The Black Box Innovations LGB2126A is a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 autosensing RJ-45 ports and two SFP slots for fiber uplinks. It supports Layer 2 management, up to four simultaneous VLANs, 802.1p QoS, 802.1X access control, SSH, SSL and SNMP v1/v2c. The unit is TAA compliant and ships with rackmount hardware for 1U installation.

Rackmount 1U form factor with dual SFP uplinks

The 1U chassis fits a standard rack using the included brackets and screws, or sits on a shelf with the adhesive rubber feet. Twenty-four copper ports handle 10/100/1000 Mbps connections to endpoints such as PCs, IP phones and cameras. Two SFP slots accept Gigabit transceivers for fiber links to a core switch or another floor, freeing copper ports for access devices.

Upgrade from unmanaged

Replacing an unmanaged switch adds VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation for VoIP and video, and port-based authentication for security. Moving from Fast Ethernet uplinks to Gigabit SFP fiber removes the 100 Mbps bottleneck between wiring closets. The jump is worth it when you need managed features, fiber reach beyond 100 metres, or 802.3az energy savings during low-traffic periods.
