Tool Storage for Mobile Work

The BLACK CANYON T8-100 is a portable tool box built for professionals and DIY users who move equipment between job sites, workshops and vehicles. Its polypropylene construction supports a 44 lbs load capacity while integrated recessed handholds and an ergonomic grip handle keep the weight balanced during transport. The 12 pack configuration suits teams or multi-location setups.

Stackable Build with Secure Latches

Dual-reinforced front latches prevent accidental opening when the box is carried or stacked, and a padlock eye accepts a user-supplied lock for theft deterrence. The lid includes built-in compartments for small fasteners, while a removable interior tray creates a dual-layer layout that separates hand tools from bulkier items. The plastic body is not water resistant, so dry storage is required.

Upgrade from Open Totes or Single-Layer Boxes

This unit replaces soft-sided bags or basic single-compartment boxes that lack secure closure and organised separation. The jump is worth it when tools must stay sorted, protected from impact and locked down during transit across 19 in workspaces. Buyers who need waterproof sealing or larger drawer counts should consider other formats.

Questions about this item

How much weight can the T8-100 tool box hold before the latches or handle are stressed?

The manufacturer rates the box at 44 pounds maximum load; the reinforced latches and ergonomic handle are designed to stay secure and balanced up to that limit.

What are the exact external dimensions so I can check if it fits in my truck bed or shelf?

The assembled unit measures 18.7 inches long, 18.7 inches wide and 25 inches high, while the compact footprint is 8.94 by 8.94 by 18.11 inches.

Does the removable tray lift out without tools, and is there a trick to re-engaging the dual latches?

Yes, the tray slides out by hand; when closing, press the lid down evenly until both front latches click — uneven pressure can leave one latch unlatched.
