Heavy-Duty Retrieval Magnet

The Black Fishing Magnet is a 2.5 inch neodymium unit rated for 550 lbs of pulling force. It is built for magnet fishing, underwater metal recovery and industrial lifting tasks where permanent, high-strength magnetism is required. The CNC-machined steel base and eyebolt attachment provide a secure connection for rope or chain.

Upgrade From Weaker Magnets

This model replaces smaller or lower-rated magnets that cannot hold heavy ferrous objects in moving water or mud. The jump is worth it when you regularly target large items such as safes, bicycles or machinery parts and need a single, reliable pull without repeated attempts.

Check Rope And Mounting Points

Verify that your rope, carabiner and any mounting hardware are rated for loads well above 550 lbs to match the magnet's capacity. Ensure the eyebolt threads are fully engaged before each use and that the recovery point can handle the sudden shock load when a heavy object breaks free.

Questions about this item

What diameter clearance does the 2.5 inch magnet base need?

The magnet base is 2.5 inches wide, so allow at least that much clearance plus room for the eyebolt to rotate freely.

How do you secure the eyebolt so it will not unscrew under load?

Thread the eyebolt fully into the tapped hole and tighten firmly by hand or with a wrench; apply thread-locking compound if the magnet will see vibration or repeated shock loads.

Does the 4-layer coating ever need to be reapplied?

The coating is designed to be maintenance-free; inspect it after heavy use and touch up any deep scratches with a corrosion-resistant paint to keep rust from starting.
