Raised Water Heater Platform

The Black Swan 17620 stand elevates a water heater 18 inches above the floor to satisfy plumbing code requirements. Its 21 by 21 inch footprint supports up to 600 pounds of tank weight. Using the stand can help prolong the service life of the heater by keeping it off damp surfaces.

Installers Meeting Code Requirements

This stand suits plumbers and homeowners who need a code-compliant elevation for a standard residential tank. Builders who require a different height, a larger footprint, or a higher load rating should look at alternative supports.

Stand Alone Base for Tank Installation

The unit sits directly on the finished floor and receives the water heater on its flat top. No additional framing or fasteners are described in the specifications. The 18 inch rise frees up space beneath the tank for drainage connections and routine inspection.

Questions about this item

What floor clearance does the 17620 stand provide so the water heater meets code?

The stand raises the heater 18 inches above the floor, satisfying the typical plumbing-code height requirement.

Will the 21-by-21-inch platform support the tank I already have?

The 600 lb load rating covers most residential tanks when full, so your existing heater should sit securely on the platform.

How can I confirm the stand is installed correctly after assembly?

Measure from the floor to the bottom of the tank; it should read 18 inches, and the heater should sit level without rocking.
