Compact broadcast control panel
The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 30 is a hardware control surface for live production switchers. It brings a traditional M/E row layout with physical buttons, a joystick and a T-bar fader into a frame that fits smaller studio spaces. Operators who prefer tactile control over software menus will find the familiar broadcast workflow instantly usable.
30 illuminated input buttons with dynamic labels
Thirty separate input buttons accept custom text and colour coding so each source is identifiable at a glance. Three system control LCDs provide menu navigation and wipe-style selection without looking away from the panel. A joystick handles DVE positioning while the fader bar gives manual transition timing. Four upstream keyers, four downstream keyers and four M/E rows are all addressable from dedicated buttons.
Verify switcher compatibility and desk space
Confirm that your ATEM switcher model supports this panel over its Ethernet control protocol. The unit requires a network connection and power from the switcher or a separate supply. Measure the available bench or rack width to ensure the panel sits comfortably alongside monitors and other gear. No internal storage or processing is included.

Questions about this item
How often will the 30 input buttons or the T-bar fader need replacement under heavy daily use?
The panel uses broadcast-grade buttons and a professional fader bar designed for continuous studio operation; no user-serviceable wear parts are listed, so any service would require a qualified technician.
What is the first limit reached when running the panel continuously for live production?
The panel itself has no processing or thermal limits; the practical ceiling is the number of sources the connected ATEM switcher can handle, which the 30 buttons and 3 system control LCDs are built to match.
How much heat or fan noise does the panel produce when left on all day?
The unit is a passive control surface with no internal processing or cooling fans, so it generates negligible heat and runs silently regardless of how long it stays powered.
