Purpose and audience

This 19.5" adapter cable connects the Mini XLR input on a Video Assist 4K Camera Monitor to professional audio gear that uses full-size XLR connectors. It is intended for videographers and field recordists who need balanced analogue audio from external microphones or mixers.

What the cable changes

The cable converts the monitor's Mini XLR port to a standard three-pin XLR socket, allowing direct connection of professional microphones, wireless receivers or line-level sources without additional adapters. This preserves balanced signal paths and phantom power where the source equipment supports it.

Practical limits

Length is fixed at 19.5 inches, so microphone placement stays close to the monitor rig. The cable carries only analogue audio; it does not transmit digital audio, timecode or control signals. Users requiring longer runs or digital interfaces will need separate solutions.

Questions about this item

Does the 19.5" Mini XLR cable need periodic replacement under normal use?

The cable is a passive adapter with no moving parts or active electronics, so no scheduled replacement is required.

What is the first limit reached when the cable runs audio continuously all day?

The only practical limit is the 19.5" length, which fixes the maximum distance between the Video Assist 4K monitor and the full-size XLR device.

Does the 19.5" cable generate heat or noise during extended operation?

As a passive copper cable it produces no heat and no audible noise, regardless of how long the Video Assist 4K monitor records.
