Compact 12G-SDI Broadcast Converter
The Blackmagic Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 12G is an ultra-small broadcast device that bridges consumer HDMI sources with professional 12G-SDI equipment. It supports SD, HD, and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60, making it suitable for portable live production, camera linking, and monitoring workflows. Two 12G-SDI outputs allow distribution to recorders or switchers.
USB Power and Firmware Updates
The unit draws power directly from a TV or laptop USB port, and a power supply is included for installations without a convenient USB source. Firmware upgrades are performed over the same USB connection, keeping the converter aligned with evolving broadcast specifications. No driver installation is required on the host device.
Format and Cable Constraints
The converter handles NTSC, PAL, 720, 1080, and 2160 standards, with built-in SDI re-clocking to maintain signal integrity over longer cable runs. HDMI timecode and camera control for ATEM switchers pass through the SDI link. Maximum resolution is 2160 at 60 frames per second; higher frame rates or resolutions beyond 2160p60 are not supported.
