Questions about this item
What does DCI 4K60 4:2:2 capture mean for my Thunderbolt 3 workflow?
You can ingest full-resolution DCI 4K at 60 frames per second with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling over a single 12G-SDI link, then stream or record directly to the host computer over Thunderbolt 3 without dropping frames.
How does the Thunderbolt 3 link limit what I can capture or play back?
The Thunderbolt 3 connection carries the 12G-SDI or HDMI signal to the computer and supplies up to 45W of power to the host, so the practical ceiling is the 12G-SDI single-link maximum of DCI 4K60 4:2:2 or HDMI at DCI 4K30 4:2:2.
What physical connections and mounting does the unit need on my desk or rack?
It requires a Thunderbolt 3 cable to the computer, 12G-SDI or HDMI for video, XLR for analogue audio, headphones for monitoring, and an SD card slot for media; the compact chassis sits on a desktop or can be rack-mounted with optional ears.
