Two green DDR3 DIMM modules with gold contacts and black chips in anti-static bags

Blazing Memory

Blazing Memory PC3-12800 16GB DDR3 2x8GB accessory

SKU CH-CD7F-M6FAS MPN PC3-12800

Two 8 GB DDR3 desktop modules run at 1600 MHz and install in 240-pin slots

  • 16 GB dual-channel kit for multitasking headroom
  • DDR3 1600 MHz speed for responsive desktop performance
  • 5 V operation keeps power draw low
  • 240-pin DIMM fits standard desktop slots
  • Backward compatible to 1333 MHz for wider system support

16 GB DDR3 Desktop Kit

This 16 GB kit delivers two 8 GB DDR3 modules rated at 1600 MHz for desktop systems. The unbuffered, non-ECC DIMMs operate at the standard 1.5 V and use the 240-pin form factor. They are designed as a matched pair for dual-channel platforms. No heatspreader is included.

Suits DDR3 Upgrades, Not Laptops

Builders refreshing an older DDR3 desktop that accepts PC3-12800 memory will find this kit a direct fit. It also runs at 1333 MHz if the board only supports PC3-10600 speeds. Laptop owners cannot use these DIMMs because they require the 240-pin desktop slot. Servers or workstations needing registered or ECC modules should look elsewhere.

Bus Speed Decides Compatibility

The decisive specification is the bus speed of PC3-12800, which equals DDR3-1600. Your motherboard must list this speed or the lower 1333 MHz variant in its qualified-vendor list. If the board only supports faster DDR3 grades or a different memory generation, the kit will not function.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 1600 MHz speed is active after installing the 240-pin DIMMs?

Enter the system BIOS or use a hardware utility such as CPU-Z; the memory tab should show DDR3 running at 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) with 1.5 V.

What does the kit include and is anything else required for installation?

The package contains two 8 GB DDR3 DIMMs in anti-static bags; no extra cables, brackets or software are needed — just an available 240-pin desktop slot.

Should I choose this PC3-12800 kit or a PC3-10600 version for my desktop?

Select the PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) kit if your motherboard supports DDR3-1600; it will also run at 1333 MHz (PC3-10600) on boards limited to that speed.
