What this cable connects

A USB A male to USB B male cable links a computer to external hard drives, modems, caddies, cameras or hubs that use a USB B port. The 1.5 metre length suits desktop setups where the peripheral sits close to the host. It is a new, black cable ready for immediate use.

Data rate to check

The cable supports a maximum transfer speed of 480 megabits per second, matching the USB 2.0 standard. If the connected drive or device requires a faster interface such as USB 3.0 or above, this cable will become the bottleneck.

Buyers who need faster throughput

Users moving large video libraries or running high-speed SSD enclosures should look for a cable rated for USB 3.0 or higher. This cable is intended for standard external hard drives, printers and legacy peripherals that operate at USB 2.0 speeds.
