Wide Card Format Support
The BlueProton USB 3.0 Multi-Card Reader accepts SD, SDHC, SDXC, MicroSD, MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC cards in a single slot. Photographers and videographers who move between full-size and micro cards can offload footage without carrying separate adapters. The sliding cap protects the port and eliminates lost caps during transport.
Passive Thermal Operation
The reader draws power directly from the host USB port and has no moving parts, so it runs silently and adds negligible heat to a laptop or desktop. Normal file transfers complete without the device becoming uncomfortable to handle, and the aluminium housing helps dissipate the small amount of warmth generated.
Sustained Transfer Behaviour
Under continuous read or write loads the USB 3.0 interface maintains its rated bandwidth until the inserted card reaches its own speed limit. Performance then matches the card's sustained specification rather than the reader's peak, so long video ingests proceed at the media's native pace without throttling from the adapter.

Questions about this item
How do I connect the BlueProton reader and which USB version should I use?
Insert a supported card, then plug the reader into a USB 3.0 port for best speed; it also works with USB 2.0 ports. No drivers are needed.
What part of the BlueProton reader is most likely to wear out first?
The sliding cap mechanism and the USB connector see the most physical cycles; keep the cap closed when not in use to reduce debris in the card slots.
What limits transfer speed during long copy sessions with this reader?
The USB 3.0 interface caps sustained throughput; the card’s own write speed and host controller can also become bottlenecks.
