Wireless Multi-Room Streamer
The Bluesound Node is a wireless multi-room hi-res music streamer built around a quad-core 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A53 processor. It suits listeners who want networked playback throughout the home without a dedicated server or complex wiring. The streamer handles MQA music and hi-res audio streaming from popular services and local libraries. It is not for buyers who require integrated amplification or built-in storage for offline libraries.
32-bit 384kHz DAC and eARC
A 32-bit/384kHz premium DAC design processes the digital signal before it reaches the analogue stage. HDMI eARC, optical and analogue inputs accept sources such as TVs, disc players or turntables with a phono stage. Optical, coaxial and USB audio outputs send the stream to an external DAC, active speakers or a separate processor. The streamer cannot decode formats or sample rates beyond the stated DAC specification.
Quad-Core Platform and Connectivity
The 1.8GHz quad-core platform provides headroom for high-resolution streams, multi-room synchronisation and the updated touch control panel with proximity sensing. USB audio output adds flexibility for owners who prefer an outboard converter. The unit runs out of headroom when asked to drive passive speakers directly or to store large local collections internally.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the Node with the quad-core 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 processor or an older dual-core model?
The current Node uses a quad-core 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 processor, which handles high-resolution streams and multi-room grouping more smoothly than the previous dual-core platform.
What does the 32-bit/384 kHz DAC specification mean for everyday playback?
It means the internal converter can decode studio-master files up to 32-bit depth and 384 kHz sample rate without down-sampling, preserving the full detail of hi-res streams and MQA unfold.
How does the HDMI eARC input limit what I can connect?
HDMI eARC carries lossless multi-channel audio from a compatible TV back to the Node, but it is limited to formats the TV itself can pass through — typically Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and PCM up to the DAC's 384 kHz ceiling.
