Outdoor dusk-to-dawn timer

This plug-in timer switch automates outdoor lighting with a built-in photocell sensor that turns connected loads on at dusk and off at dawn or after a timed interval. It provides three grounded outlets rated at 15 amps and 125 volts, suitable for seasonal string lights, patio fixtures or yard decorations. The ETL-listed enclosure is designed for wet locations.

Remote control and scheduling

A handheld RF remote lets you override the automatic cycle from up to 100 feet away in direct line of sight, with the signal penetrating walls and doors. All three outlets switch together rather than independently, and the timer offers selectable run times of two, four or six hours after dusk. The unit draws power from alkaline batteries for the clock and photocell functions.

Installation checks

Verify that the mounting location has a standard 125-volt grounded receptacle protected from direct immersion. Confirm the total connected load does not exceed 1875 watts resistive or the 5-amp tungsten rating for incandescent strings. Ensure the 6-inch supply cord reaches the outlet without strain and that the remote’s RF path is not blocked by dense metal structures.
