Drop-in ceiling speaker for suspended tile grids

The Bogen BG-ACD2X2U is a drop-in ceiling speaker designed for standard 2 ft by 2 ft and 2 ft by 4 ft suspended tile ceilings. A support rail crossbar is included for the larger grid size. It suits installers who need a self-contained paging or background-music unit that fits directly into the tile opening without a separate back-box.

Fully enclosed steel enclosure

The speaker housing is made from industrial-grade steel and is fully enclosed, protecting the driver and electronics above the ceiling plane. A self-contained 1-watt amplifier drives an 8-inch main cone with a secondary cone, so no external amplifier is required for basic paging levels. The front-mounted, recessed volume control allows local level adjustment without removing the grille.

Bright white perforated grille

A finely perforated grille covers the entire front face and carries a non-reflective bright white finish that blends with standard ceiling tiles. Seismic attachment points are provided for installations that must meet structural safety requirements. The assembly complies with UL-2043 for use in air-handling spaces.

Questions about this item

Does the self-contained 1-watt amplifier generate noticeable heat when the speaker runs all day?

The amplifier is rated at one watt, so heat output is minimal during continuous operation.

What ceiling-grid hardware must already be in place for the drop-in installation to work?

A standard suspended tile grid — either 2 ft by 2 ft or 2 ft by 4 ft — is required; the included support rail crossbar handles the larger tiles.

Will the UL-2043 compliant steel enclosure fit alongside older ceiling speakers that use different mounting brackets?

Yes, the drop-in design sits inside the existing tile opening, so it can share a ceiling with legacy units that mount differently.
