Drive Bay Adapter Kit

This two-piece metal bracket kit converts a standard 3.5-inch internal drive bay so it can accept any 2.5-inch SSD or hard drive. It is designed for desktop PC builders who want to install laptop-sized storage in a full-size chassis. The package includes sixteen mounting screws for securing both the drive and the brackets. ||

SATA Cable Clearance

The open-frame design leaves enough room around the installed drive to connect standard SATA data and power cables without forcing the connectors. Metal construction helps conduct heat away from the drive during operation. Installation requires only a screwdriver and an available 3.5-inch bay in the case. ||

2.5-Inch Drive Compatibility

The brackets accept any 2.5-inch SATA SSD or mechanical hard drive regardless of brand or height. They do not support M.2, U.2 or 3.5-inch drives, and they cannot be used in 5.25-inch bays or external enclosures. Buyers needing to mount larger drives or different form factors should look for a different adapter.

Questions about this item

One pack has two brackets — is that enough for a single drive or do I need more?

The pack contains two brackets and sixteen screws, so you can mount two separate 2.5 inch drives into two 3.5 inch bays.

Will a 2.5 inch SSD actually run at full SATA speed once it is screwed into this bracket?

The bracket is a passive metal frame; it does not alter the SATA connection, so the drive keeps its normal SATA transfer rate.

Does the bracket follow the standard 3.5 inch drive-bay mounting pattern so it lines up with my case holes?

Yes, it is built to the standard 3.5 inch form factor and aligns with the usual screw holes in desktop cases.
