Adds four SATA 6Gbps ports via a PCIe x1 slot for connecting up to four SATA drives
This BONAEVER controller card adds four SATA 3.0 ports to a desktop computer through a single PCIe x1 slot. It uses a Marvell chipset to deliver up to 6.0G bps per port and is backward compatible with SATA 1.5G and 3.0G drives. The card fits PCIe 2.0 and 1.0 slots of any width from x1 to x16. A low-profile bracket is included for small-form-factor cases.
It suits builders who need to connect up to four additional SATA hard drives or SSDs and want native command queuing, hot-plug support and AHCI 1.0 operation. Windows XP through 10 and Linux are supported. It is not for systems that lack a free PCIe slot or for users who need external drive connectivity.
The card requires one available PCIe x1 slot and works in x2, x4, x8 or x16 slots at PCIe 2.0 or 1.0 speeds. If the motherboard has no spare PCIe slot, this card cannot be installed.

The card runs at PCIe 2.0 x1, so the four SATA 3.0 ports share a 5 Gbps lane; each drive can reach 6 Gbps only when the others are idle.
A low-profile bracket is included; the board occupies a single PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot.
Install the AHCI driver for Windows XP through 10 or Linux, then enable AHCI in the BIOS before connecting drives; skipping the BIOS switch leaves the card in IDE mode.
