Model-Specific Fit

The BONAEVER A2338 case fits 13-inch MacBook Pro units released between 2018 and 2021 with Touch Bar. Compatible model numbers are A2338, A2289, A2251, A2159 and A1989. Buyers must verify the "A2xxx" code on the underside of their device before ordering. This product is not for owners of other MacBook sizes, non-Touch Bar models or any laptop outside the listed model numbers.

Heat Dissipation and Ergonomics

A fully ventilated shell allows heat to escape during normal operation without removing the cover. The built-in folding kickstand raises the rear of the laptop to an ergonomic typing angle that also improves screen visibility and reduces neck strain. All ports remain accessible while the case is installed. The Apple logo shines through the material without a cutout.

Sustained Use Protection

The heavy-duty armor shell uses a shock-absorbing wraparound bumper to guard against drops, scrapes and scratches during extended daily use. An optional scratch guard adds 360-degree coverage for the chassis. A silicone keyboard cover is included to protect against spills and debris over long periods. Simple snap-on installation keeps the case secure through repeated open and close cycles.

Questions about this item

How do I install the A2338 case on my 13-inch MacBook Pro and which step do people often miss?

Snap the top and bottom shells onto the MacBook Pro 13 models A2338, A2289, A2251, A2159 or A1989, then apply the optional scratch guard for 360 protection — that guard is the step many skip.

What maintenance or replacement will the A2338 case need over time?

The silicone keyboard cover should be washed or replaced if it wears thin or loses grip, while the hard shell only needs occasional wiping to keep vents clear.

What limit appears first when the A2338 case is used continuously under heavy load?

The fully ventilated design relies on the MacBook's own cooling, so sustained high temperatures will throttle the laptop before the case itself becomes a restriction.
