Compatibility with iPad Pro 12.9 inch

It fits model numbers A2436, A2764, A2437, A2766, A2378, A2379, A2461, A2462, A2229, A2069, A2232, A2233, A1876, A2014, A1895 and A1983. Buyers who need a keyboard for other iPad sizes or non-Pro models cannot use this case.

Thermals noise and power draw

The case has no active cooling, fans or internal power supply so it produces no noise and draws no power from the iPad. The magnetic floating hinge holds the tablet securely at any viewing angle without adding measurable weight or heat. The backlit keys and trackpad operate on the case's own rechargeable battery, leaving the iPad's thermals and battery life unaffected.

Upgrade from on-screen typing or basic folios

This case replaces typing on the iPad's glass screen or using a simple folio without a trackpad. The integrated multi-touch trackpad adds cursor control for document editing, web browsing and presentation building. The backlit keyboard enables work in low-light conditions. Users who already own a full laptop-style keyboard case with similar trackpad and backlight features will not gain new functionality.

Questions about this item

How does the magnetic floating case attach to my iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2022 model A2436, and what step do people skip?

Align the iPad with the magnetic cantilever until it locks; the step often missed is verifying the model number on the back matches A2436, A2764, A2437 or A2766 before attaching.

What part of the BONAEVER A2436 case will need replacement first with daily trackpad use?

The built-in multi-touch trackpad surface wears before the magnetic hinge; keep it clean and avoid sharp objects to extend its life.

What limit appears first during a long typing session with the backlit keyboard?

The backlight draws power continuously, so battery drain on the iPad becomes the practical limit during extended use.
