DB9 RS232 D-SUB Serial Adapter

The BONAEVER DB9 RS232 D-SUB serial adapter provides a female connector with screw terminals inside a protective case. It suits engineers and technicians who need a weld-free DB9 interface for industrial control equipment, radios, computers, tax control machines or automation instruments.

Screw Terminal Installation

Wires from 12 to 24 AWG or 16 to 26 AWG are secured by tightening the screw terminals to a torque of 1.7 Lb-In. The insulated, anti-slip shell protects the copper contacts during assembly, while the 10 mm cable hole and 3 mm fixing holes on 6 mm centres allow panel mounting.

Capacity and Headroom

The adapter handles standard RS232 signalling for communication, network and electronic equipment ports. Its compact 58 x 35 x 21 mm case fits tight enclosures, but the single DB9 female interface cannot support multi-drop or high-speed differential protocols.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the DB9 RS232 D-SUB serial adapter is working after wiring it?

Power the connected equipment and verify data passes through the DB9 male/female connector to the screw terminals; the adapter has no LEDs so activity must be checked on the host device.

What comes in the package and what must I supply separately?

The box contains 1 × DB9 adapter with case; you must provide 26-16 AWG wire, a screwdriver for the 0.2 Nm torque terminals, and mounting screws for the 3 mm fixing holes at 6 mm centres.

Which version should I choose for a 10 mm cable entry?

The adapter with the 10 mm / 0.4" cable hole diameter suits cables needing that opening; the alternative lists a 46 × 34 × 20 mm body without that specification.
