mSATA 30x50mm Adapter

This BONAEVER adapter converts a 30x50mm mSATA SSD into a USB 3.0 portable drive. It plugs directly into a USB port without a separate cable. The ASM1153E chip provides broad platform compatibility and stable signal transmission. It supports SSDs up to 512GB capacity.

Suitable for mSATA SSD reuse

Ideal for repurposing a 30x50mm mSATA SSD removed during a laptop upgrade. It adds external storage to laptops or desktops via USB 3.0. Not suitable for SATA Mini PCIe, PATA Mini PCIe, or RAID Mini PCIe SSDs. Builders needing support for those form factors or drives drawing over 1.5A current cannot use this adapter.

ASM1153E chip with UASP

The ASM1153E controller enables USB 3.0 transfer speeds up to 200MB/s. With UASP support on compatible systems, speeds can reach 400MB/s. UASP acceleration requires host support, available on Windows 8 and Mac OS 8 & 9. Actual performance depends on the installed SSD.

Questions about this item

What real-world speed can I expect when the 200 Mb/s figure is inside a live machine?

The adapter reaches up to 200 Mb/s over USB 3.0; with UASP enabled on Windows 8 or Mac OS 8/9 it can hit 400 Mb/s, actual throughput still depends on the SSD you install.

What does the USB 3.0 interface actually cap in daily use?

USB 3.0 limits the link to 200 Mb/s normally, or 400 Mb/s when UASP is active, and the ASM1153E chip handles the SATA-to-USB translation.

What physical space and power does the 30×50 mm board need to mount?

It accepts only 30 mm × 50 mm mSATA SSDs drawing under 1.5 A and plugs straight into a USB-A port with no cable required.
