Audio Converter and Splitter

This bi-directional unit converts between optical and coaxial digital audio, repeats the signal, or splits one source into both outputs simultaneously. It suits home-theatre owners and gamers who need to connect legacy and modern gear without driver installation. The included optical cable and micro-USB power lead let you start immediately.

Build Integration

The converter sits between a source such as a console, Blu-ray player or TV and an amplifier, sound bar or AV receiver. It accepts either optical or coaxial input via a selector switch and delivers both optical and coaxial outputs at once, freeing you from buying separate adapters. Power comes from the supplied micro-USB cable, so a spare USB port or charger is the only extra requirement.

Capacity and Headroom

The device handles sampling rates up to 192 kHz at 24-bit depth and passes uncompressed LPCM/PCM plus compressed 5.1 formats such as Dolby Digital and DTS. Optical runs reach 98.4 ft with loss below .2 dB per metre, while coaxial output covers 32.8 ft. It does not support analogue audio, HDMI extraction or sampling rates above 192 kHz.
