Universal Optical Drive

This external DVD writer connects through USB 3.0 or the included USB-C adapter and works with Windows versions from 98 through 10 plus all Mac OS releases. It reads and writes CD and DVD media but does not support Blu-ray discs.

Sustained Write Performance

Buffer under-run protection keeps the drive stable during long burns at up to 8x for DVD±R and 24x for CD-R media. The USB 3.0 link tops out at 5 Gbps and falls back to USB 2.0 speeds when required.

Thermals and Power

Bus power from the USB port runs the unit without an external adapter, so heat and noise stay low in normal use. The slim enclosure and detachable cable make it easy to store or carry between locations.
