SATA IDE USB 3.0 Adapter Kit

This BONAEVER adapter connects 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA or IDE hard drives and optical drives to a USB 3.0 port. It includes a 12V 2A power supply and supports drives up to 6TB capacity. The kit handles both 40-pin and 44-pin IDE configurations alongside SATA devices.

For legacy drive recovery and data migration

Ideal for accessing files from older desktops, laptops or optical drives without installing them internally. Plug-and-play operation works with Windows 7 through 10, Mac OS 9 and 10, and Linux. Not suited for builders needing internal drive installation or users requiring transfer speeds beyond the 5Gbps USB 3.0 interface.

6TB maximum drive capacity

The adapter supports hard drives up to 6TB, which determines whether your specific drive will be recognised. Drives exceeding this limit are not supported. Jumper configuration may be required for older IDE drives to set master or slave mode before use.

Questions about this item

What drive sizes and interfaces does the BONAEVER adapter support so I know my existing drives will fit?

The adapter accepts 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs, plus 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch IDE hard drives and optical drives using 40-pin and 44-pin connectors.

Will the adapter work with USB 2.0 ports on my older laptop?

Yes, the USB 3.0 interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, though transfer speed will be limited to the older port's maximum.

How can I confirm the adapter is transferring data at the expected rate after I connect a drive?

Check that the operating system reports a USB 3.0 connection and observe sustained transfer speeds approaching 5 Gbps when copying large files from a SATA drive.
