What it is

The BONAEVER USB 56K External Dial Up Voice Fax Data Modem is a new external modem that connects via USB 2.0. It delivers up to 56K download speeds, 48K data upload and 14.4 Kbps fax mode using V.92 protocols. The unit is small, light-weighted and easy to carry.

Who it suits

It suits users who need a dial-up connection for internet access, fax sending or receiving on legacy Windows systems from 98 SE through Win 10 and on Mac. It does not suit buyers who require voice dialing or broadband-class throughput for modern applications.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the maximum 56K download speed over a V.92 dial-up link. If your line quality or service plan cannot reach that rate the modem will fall back automatically but throughput will be lower.
