Portable Bluetooth speaker for travel

The Bose SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) is a compact wireless speaker built for listeners who want balanced sound and deep bass while moving between indoor and outdoor spaces. It connects through Bluetooth 5.3 and includes a USB Type-C cable for charging. The IP67 rating means it resists dust, survives immersion and floats if dropped in water.

IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating

The single specification that decides suitability is the IP67 certification, which guarantees full dust protection and survival in water up to one metre for thirty minutes. Buyers who need a speaker that cannot tolerate any liquid exposure or submersion should look elsewhere.

Up to twelve hours playback per charge

Under continuous play the lithium-ion battery delivers up to 12 hours of audio before requiring a four-hour recharge. Output level and environmental temperature will affect actual run time, so extended high-volume sessions may fall short of the maximum figure.

Questions about this item

How does the 12-hour battery life hold up in daily use?

The lithium-ion cell delivers up to 12 hours of playback per charge and recharges fully in about 4 hours via the included USB Type-C cable.

What does Bluetooth 5.3 actually limit in real-world range?

Bluetooth 5.3 maintains a stable link up to 30 feet, so walls or interference may reduce the practical distance somewhat.

Will the speaker fit in a standard cup holder or bike cage?

At 8.661 inches wide, 3.78 inches deep and 2.06 inches high it is too large for most cup holders but can be clipped to a pack using the utility loop.
