Portable battery-powered pencil sharpener

The Bostitch BPS2-ORG runs on batteries so students and artists can sharpen graphite or coloured pencils anywhere without a wall outlet. Its compact plastic body fits inside a backpack or most pencil cases for on-the-go use. The red housing weighs 0.156 kilograms and measures 36 inches in total packaged length.

Stall-free motor with safety switch

A replaceable cutter cartridge drives a stall-free motor that handles standard pencils and coloured pencils under normal use. The hinged oversized shavings bin opens for quick disposal and a built-in safety switch stops the motor whenever the tray is lifted. No tools are needed to swap the cutter cartridge.

Ready-to-use classroom tool

The unit ships as a single red sharpener in standard packaging with the cutter cartridge already installed. No additional software, cables or accessories are included in the box. Buyers who need an AC-powered sharpener or a multi-hole desktop model will need a different product.

Questions about this item

How do I install the BPS2-ORG sharpener and what is the common mistake?

Insert four AA batteries (not included), then close the hinged shavings tray until it clicks; the safety switch stops the motor if the tray is even slightly ajar, which is the step most users miss.

What part will need replacing and how is it done?

The cutter cartridge is replaceable without tools; slide the old cartridge out and press the new one in until it locks.

What limit appears first during continuous sharpening?

The stall-free motor handles standard graphite and coloured pencils under normal use, but prolonged heavy sessions can overheat the motor and trigger a thermal pause.
