Brady 5647-II chilled water return pipe marker

The Brady 5647-II pipe marker identifies chilled water return lines in commercial and industrial facilities. Maintenance crews and plant operators use it to meet labelling requirements and improve system traceability. The wrap-around mounting style fits directly onto existing pipework without tools. White legend text on a green background provides clear visibility in mechanical rooms.

Practical limits of wrap-around pipe markers

The marker conforms to the pipe circumference, so surface curvature and insulation thickness affect legibility. Character height of 1 1/4 in sets the minimum viewing distance for quick identification. Arrow indicators show flow direction but cannot replace detailed schematics. Exposure to UV, chemicals or abrasion will degrade the plastic over time.

Build quality and daily implications

The plastic construction resists moisture and typical indoor contaminants found in HVAC environments. Wrap-around design allows installation on live systems without shutdowns or pipe preparation. Arrows are printed as part of the legend, eliminating separate directional labels. Green background colour follows common industry coding for chilled water return services.
