Questions about this item

Does the 16 in base need any maintenance over time?

The base is moulded black plastic with a natural-finish 3 in post; it has no moving parts or coatings that require routine upkeep.

What limits how long the 41 in post can stay upright under continuous load?

The post relies on its 3 in diameter plastic wall and the 16 in base footprint for stability; sustained lateral force beyond what that geometry resists will cause deflection or tip-over first.
