Dual-port 100 Gb/s QSFP56 PCIe 4.0 x16 network adapter with BroadSAFE security and TruFlow acceleration for virtualized data-center workloads
This Broadcom BCM957508-P2100G network card delivers two 100 Gb/s Ethernet ports using QSFP56 connectors on a PCIe 4.0 x16 interface. It targets enterprise and cloud-scale servers running high-performance computing, storage disaggregation, machine learning or data analytics workloads. The adapter supports line-rate, full-duplex throughput across multiple speed grades down to 10 Gb/s.
The jump is worth it when servers need twice the 100 Gb/s port density or require the TruFlow engine to accelerate vSwitch processing and increase VM density. NIC partitioning with up to 16 physical functions lets one card replace multiple lower-port-count adapters. BroadSAFE silicon root of trust adds hardware-level platform security not found on earlier-generation NICs.
Verify the host server has a free PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and that its BIOS and OS — among CentOS, Debian, Windows, Oracle Linux, Solaris, RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu or VMware — recognise the adapter. Confirm QSFP56 transceiver and cable compatibility for the desired link speed (200, 100, 50, 40, 25 or 10 Gb/s). Ensure airflow and power budget accommodate a full-height, full-length card.

The card uses a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, so the motherboard must provide a full-length x16 connector running at generation 4.0 speeds.
Insert the adapter into the PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, secure the bracket, then attach QSFP56 transceivers or direct-attach cables to both ports; the step often missed is seating the transceivers firmly until they click.
The controller firmware and the TruManage management stack receive periodic updates for security patches, feature enhancements and compatibility with newer OS releases.
